How We Can Improve Princeton

Preparing for the Future:  

• Reviewing/Amending/Enforcing town ordinances:   

1. Join efforts with the Town of Princeton Administration and appropriate individuals to determine ordinances requiring revision.  
2. Propose amendments to the Town Board(s) for approval and publication.  
3. Collaborate with the Town of Princeton Administration and appropriate Town/County departments to enforce ordinances. 

• Enhancing new construction requirements:   

1. Require sidewalks to be installed on all new construction sites, in an effort to have a fully-connected town.  
2. Require appropriate stormwater drainage on all new construction sites.    

• Resolving the sewer moratorium:   

1. Work with NCDEQ and other governmental departments to resolve the existing moratorium.  
2. Implement a plan to prevent future moratoriums.   

• Coordinating plans for existing and future infrastructure   

1. Work with various departments to create a repair and maintenance schedule.  
2. Prepare plan for future infrastructure     

        Building a Better Community:  

• Enforcing rules set forth by our governing body 
• Improving safety by eliminating known illegal activities:  Work with our Police Chief, Town Commissioners, and other Law Enforcement Agencies to eliminate known criminal activity.  
• Promoting free, fun and safe community events:  Continue collaborating with local groups to develop, volunteer for, and help sponsor community-wide activities.  
• Encouraging new businesses in town:  A town thrives when more than a few people invest in it. As such, we need to encourage other investors to spend their resources on our beautiful little town.    
• Eliminating unsightly/condemned structures:  Boarded up structures are an eyesore and potentially unsafe for trespassers. Our Town ordinances need to address these structures and enforce their timely removal/renovation.  
• Treating every citizen equally and fairly:  This should be a given, but there are appearances of the "good old boys network" in Princeton. The Town's best interest should be paramount and rules should be applied to everyone equally.
